Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, tension, restlessness, apprehension and worry often accompanied by physical sensations such as palpitations, chest pain and/or shortness of breath. There can be many different causes of anxiety and it can leave individuals feeling crippled and unable to complete tasks in their lives.

Elana is specialized to treat various anxiety disorders: phobias (intense fear of a specific object or situation), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (an anxiety disorder that includes excessive obsessive thinking and compulsive behavior), Post-Traumatic Disorder (anxiety that is caused by a traumatic event), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

These fears and disorders can be treated quite effectively with the combination of Cognitive-Behavioral treatment and pharmaceutical treatment. Many people are opposed to taking medication, and Elana is open to working with these disorders in the absence of medication.
